Seeking Justice and Change

Welcome to the Kendrick Johnson Foundation. Our mission is to honor the life of Kendrick Johnson, our beloved son, brother, and friend, whose untimely and controversial death has sparked our relentless pursuit for justice and truth.

In January 2013, our 17-year-old Kendrick was found inside a rolled-up gym mat at Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia. Authorities initially ruled his death as an accident caused by positional asphyxia. However, we believed there was more to the story and began our own investigation, uncovering troubling discrepancies.

Independent autopsies revealed that Kendrick had suffered blunt force trauma to the head, contradicting the official findings. Additionally, discovering that some of his organs were missing and replaced with newspaper intensified our suspicions and public outcry.

Despite a federal investigation in 2016 that concluded without charges, we have never wavered in our quest for answers. Our relentless advocacy led to the case being reopened in 2021, highlighting the community's demand for justice and transparency.

Kendrick's story has touched hearts and ignited a movement. It has brought attention to critical issues of racial inequality and the need for systemic reform in the justice system. Through documentaries, news coverage, and social media campaigns, his legacy continues to inspire calls for accountability and change.

At the Kendrick Johnson Foundation, we are dedicated to ensuring that Kendrick's life and story are never forgotten. We strive to support other families facing similar tragedies, advocate for policy changes, and promote greater transparency and fairness in death investigations.

Join us in our mission to seek justice for Kendrick and drive meaningful change. Together, we can honor his memory and work towards a future where every life is valued and every death is justly investigated.

With sincere gratitude to all of our supporters,
